Solutions Engineer

Role overview

Serve as a technical partner throughout the customer lifecycle, helping organizations evaluate, adopt, and operate scalable database infrastructure. The work combines technical discovery, architecture design, migration execution, automation, customer education, and close collaboration with sales, product, and engineering teams across remote regions in EMEA and North America.

Responsibilities

- Lead technical discovery and connect customer business objectives with suitable database solutions. - Design and manage proof-of-value plans with clear outcomes and success criteria. - Create migration strategies and work hands-on with customers moving to PostgreSQL and horizontally scalable MySQL-compatible systems. - Assess workloads, performance requirements, architecture, capacity, and optimization opportunities. - Build scripts, tools, and automation that make migrations and onboarding more efficient. - Produce educational materials such as documentation, guides, workshops, blog posts, and videos.

Requirements

- Deep knowledge of database systems and operational concerns. - Experience with replication, high availability, sharding, performance tuning, and migration planning. - Ability to explain architecture and technical recommendations to both executives and engineering teams. - Practical scripting or software development ability for automating technical customer work. - Strong customer-facing communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts into business value. - Comfort partnering across sales, customer engineering, product, and engineering functions.
