Lead Product Designer

Role overview A senior, client-facing design role focused on owning product and UX direction across multiple consulting engagements simultaneously. The position centers on discovery, concepting, stakeholder alignment, and quality oversight, while a separate production team scales the approved direction across the full product surface. It is best suited to a designer who enjoys shaping ambiguous problems and presenting stronger alternatives to clients.

Responsibilities - Lead discovery sessions with client stakeholders to surface business goals, user needs, requirements, design system constraints, and success metrics. - Define the product and UX direction for each engagement, including alternative approaches the client has not yet considered. - Design the key flows, defining screens, and patterns that anchor production work. - Run workshops, present concepts, and build stakeholder confidence in the recommended direction. - Challenge assumptions constructively, including client-mandated decisions, without damaging the relationship. - Define the validation strategy, document the agreed design direction, and review production work for quality and drift as the design is scaled out. - Monitor client sentiment and escalate design risk to leadership early.

Requirements - 8+ years of product design experience with substantial client or stakeholder-facing work. - A portfolio that shows the full design process from problem framing through shipped product. - Track record leading discovery, defining UX direction, and presenting concepts to senior stakeholders. - Experience working alongside visual designers or design systems teams who scale the approved direction. - Comfort managing direction across more than one engagement at a time.

Nice to have - Background designing for iOS and Android environments, with familiarity in Material Design and Apple's Human Interface Guidelines. - Hands-on experience with user research and usability testing.
