Role overview
An engineering role focused on building and shipping machine learning systems that personalize discovery and shopping experiences on a large consumer platform. The position partners with product teams to develop, experiment with, and continuously improve models powering feeds, ads, growth, shopping, and search surfaces, with emphasis on rapid experimentation and applied deep learning.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and refine deep learning and classical ML models that personalize user experiences across multiple product surfaces - Collaborate with product, engineering, and analytics partners to design experiments and improve models in feeds, ads, growth, shopping, and search - Apply data-driven methods to strengthen candidate retrieval and ranking, leveraging the unique properties of large-scale behavioral data - Use large language models to enhance content understanding and unlock new personalization capabilities - Build and maintain data processing pipelines that support training, evaluation, and production scoring - Stay current with recommender system research and translate relevant advances into production impact
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative discipline - Three years of experience in machine learning engineering or a related occupation - Two years of hands-on experience spanning user modeling, personalization, recommender systems, search and ranking, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, and graph representation learning - Experience building data processing pipelines and working with Hadoop and Spark - Demonstrated track record of improving ML models for consumer product surfaces - Full-time telecommuting permitted; U.S.-based applicants only

- Base salary range of $215,250 to $285,982 USD plus equity eligibility - No relocation assistance offered for this position
