Role overview
A senior machine learning engineer is needed to build and improve the deep learning systems that personalize a large-scale content discovery platform. The work spans recommendation, retrieval, and ranking across multiple product surfaces, with close partnership across engineering, product, and research teams in a fast experimentation environment. Telecommuting and remote work are permitted for US-based applicants.
Responsibilities
- Build production machine learning and deep learning systems that personalize multiple product surfaces - Partner with cross-functional teams to experiment with and improve models for areas such as feeds, ads, growth, shopping, and search - Apply data-driven methods and exploit the unique properties of large-scale behavioral data to improve retrieval and ranking - Work in a high-impact setting with rapid experimentation and frequent product launches - Keep current with industry trends in recommendation systems and apply them where useful - Leverage large language models and embeddings to enhance content understanding - Contribute to model evaluation, offline and online experimentation, and launch readiness
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative discipline - Three or more years of experience in machine learning, applied research, or related software engineering - At least three years of hands-on experience with each of the following: PyTorch, TensorFlow, LaTeX, Scikit-learn, SQL, Python, Java, Hive, recommendation algorithms, Git, Spark, R, MATLAB, natural language processing, and deep learning - Strong foundation in recommendation, retrieval, or ranking systems - Ability to operate in a fast-paced, experiment-driven environment - Must be US-based; relocation assistance is not available
Benefits and work setup
