Role overview
Build, customize, and maintain fast, secure, conversion-oriented WordPress websites for a range of client projects. You will translate design and marketing requirements into maintainable site implementations, connect websites to business and automation systems, and take ownership of updates, performance, security, troubleshooting, and ongoing stability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain responsive WordPress websites for desktop, tablet, and mobile use. - Customize themes and templates, create child-theme changes, and add custom functionality when required. - Install, configure, update, and troubleshoot plugins while keeping site behavior stable. - Manage domains, DNS, hosting, SSL, staging environments, backups, and deployments. - Connect forms, tracking, CRM systems, email, payment services, and automation tools. - Improve loading speed, Core Web Vitals, security posture, and foundational SEO implementation. - Test releases across browsers and devices, diagnose theme or hosting issues, and document builds for ongoing maintenance. - Collaborate with design, marketing, and content contributors while managing several sites and deadlines.
Requirements
- At least two years of WordPress development and maintenance experience, with live examples. - Strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP skills, including WordPress hooks, templates, and the plugin API. - Experience customizing themes and building or extending plugins. - Working knowledge of domains, DNS, hosting, SSL, staging workflows, backups, performance, and security hardening. - Experience with at least one visual page-building system. - Familiarity with SEO fundamentals and conversion-focused website implementation. - Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and troubleshoot methodically. - Clear written and verbal English communication. - Availability from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. US Central Time, Monday through Friday.
