QA Engineer

Role overview A lead-level Quality Assurance Engineer is needed to direct software quality efforts for a federal government program, working full-time remote from the Fort Knox, Kentucky area. The role focuses on building and running end-to-end test strategies for distributed applications hosted in the cloud, with a strong emphasis on automation and continuous integration. The position requires an active security clearance and is suited to an experienced QA professional ready to mentor others and shape testing practices across the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities - Develop and execute detailed test plans covering functional, regression, performance, and security testing. - Build and maintain automated end-to-end test suites using Cypress, reducing reliance on manual testing. - Validate distributed applications and microservices running in AWS cloud environments for scalability and reliability. - Integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery. - Track, document, and drive defects to resolution in collaboration with engineering teams. - Lead QA initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and champion quality engineering best practices.

Requirements - 5+ years of software quality assurance experience with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role. - Hands-on proficiency with Cypress for end-to-end web testing. - Proven experience testing applications deployed in AWS. - Working knowledge of Azure DevOps for test management, pipelines, and agile tracking. - Active CompTIA Security+ (IAT Level II) certification and an active Secret clearance. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; U.S. citizenship required.

Nice to have - Experience with Selenium or Appium for additional automation coverage. - Professional testing credentials such as CMST, CSTE, CQE, or CPE.
