Role overview The Junior QA Engineer is an entry-level automation role supporting a healthcare communication and collaboration software suite used by clinicians and care teams. The position focuses on learning to build automated test scripts while contributing to manual validation as needed within a remote, cross-functional team. It is designed for someone early in their automation career who wants to grow their skills in quality engineering.
Responsibilities - Learn, develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts under the guidance of senior automation engineers. - Participate in creating and executing test cases, test plans, and test scenarios based on business requirements. - Shift between manual testing and automation work depending on delivery timelines, feature complexity, and team priorities. - Build technical testing knowledge, including exposure to automation frameworks, scripting, CI/CD, and quality engineering best practices. - Communicate effectively in a remote environment, including maintaining an active on-camera presence during meetings.
Requirements - Some prior technical experience in software testing, automation, scripting, development, or a related area, OR a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or another programming or technology-related field from an accredited institution. - Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and/or Agile delivery practices. - Familiarity with test automation concepts and a clear interest in building skills with automation tools and frameworks. - Exposure to one or more programming or scripting languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python, or C#. - Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
