Entry-Level Electronics Technician (UPS Field Engineer)

Role overview Start a long-term field service career servicing the uninterruptible power supply, battery, DC power, and distribution equipment that keeps data centers, telecom hubs, hospitals, and other mission-critical sites running. This entry-level role in the Dallas-Fort Worth region pairs formal training with on-the-job mentorship from senior technicians, with no prior UPS field experience required.

Responsibilities - Complete company-provided classroom, safety, and hands-on equipment training as part of onboarding. - Assist experienced technicians with preventive maintenance, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of UPS systems, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, and inverters. - Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer documentation to track down electrical and electronic faults. - Support installation, commissioning, and replacement of UPS systems, batteries, and battery monitoring equipment. - Perform visual inspections, record equipment readings, document service reports, and communicate findings to senior technicians, dispatchers, and customers. - Use multimeters, battery analyzers, and other diagnostic tools safely and correctly while following OSHA, NFPA 70E, and customer site safety procedures.

Requirements - Foundational understanding of electronics, electrical systems, AC/DC theory, mechanical systems, or electronic troubleshooting from technical or career school, community college, an apprenticeship or certificate program, military technical training, or hands-on laboratory or field experience. - Ability to read or willingness to learn electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation. - Practical experience with hand tools and electronic test equipment, including a digital multimeter. - Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset. - Dependability, professional accountability, and willingness to keep learning as equipment and customer needs change.
