SRE Manager

Role overview

Lead a small SRE team responsible for the infrastructure behind a major blockchain platform, spanning test networks through production environments with 24/7 on-call coverage. You'll set engineering direction, mature reliability practices such as SLOs and blameless postmortems, and grow the people on your team. The position is remote-first, with optional access to offices in Berlin, Lisbon, and London.

Responsibilities

- Lead and develop a team of experienced SRE engineers working across the full stack, from runtime environments to live applications and ecosystem events - Define and evolve reliability practices, including SLO design, error budgets, and postmortem culture - Drive automation initiatives that remove repetitive operational work from skilled engineers - Run deployment pipelines, observability tooling, and production environments at different stability tiers - Build the conditions for good engineering work and support senior talent as they grow

Requirements

- Genuine understanding of distributed systems and large-scale infrastructure - Credibility with deeply technical engineers, even without needing to be the deepest specialist on any one topic - Practical experience leading or working on a team that practices SRE seriously - Working knowledge of when SLOs are miscalibrated and how to run postmortems that actually improve things - Track record of engineers growing under your leadership - Comfort operating in unfamiliar territory such as blockchain infrastructure
