Android Software Engineer, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Required, Work From Home

Role overview A remote Android Software Engineer is needed to build and maintain production-grade mobile applications powering insurance and financial products. The role blends core Android craftsmanship with hands-on work on AI-assisted features such as chat experiences, recommendation systems, and automation flows. It is a full-time, fully remote position based out of the United States, well suited to a senior engineer who enjoys shipping at scale.

Responsibilities - Build, maintain, and evolve production Android applications primarily in Kotlin for insurance, payments, and customer-facing workflows. - Design responsive mobile interfaces and integrate backend APIs that support quotations, policy management, claims, and transactional services. - Contribute to AI-enabled product capabilities, including chat interfaces, recommendation features, and automation workflows integrated into the mobile experience. - Optimize app performance, responsiveness, battery usage, and memory efficiency across a range of devices. - Implement analytics, crash reporting, and user behavior tracking to continuously improve product quality and reliability. - Collaborate with backend, product, design, and AI/ML teams across the full development lifecycle, while upholding strong system design and testing discipline.

Requirements - 3+ years of professional Android development experience using Kotlin. - Hands-on Artificial Intelligence experience applied to mobile or product features. - Strong understanding of Android architecture components and modern Android development practices. - Proven track record of shipping production Android applications to real users. - Solid knowledge of Coroutines, Flow, and asynchronous programming patterns. - Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working within distributed systems, plus comfort with SQL and NoSQL databases.

Nice to have - Familiarity with on-device machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow Lite. - Experience with AI-enabled mobile features like chat interfaces, recommendation systems, or automation workflows. - Published apps on the Google Play Store. - Comfort with Compose, XML-based UI, Android Jetpack components (including ViewModel), and mobile performance tuning or debugging in production.
