Role overview
A health insurer is hiring a Manager of Insurance Product Innovation & Emerging Solutions to lead the development of forward-looking lifestyle, multicultural, and condition-specific health plan concepts. Reporting to the VP of Insurance Product Innovation and Development, this remote role combines hands-on product management with strategy translation, taking ideas from concept through pilot to scalable opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Drive development of new insurance product concepts, including lifestyle-based, multicultural, and condition-specific health plans - Translate innovation strategy into early-stage designs, value propositions, and member use cases grounded in unmet needs and health disparities - Analyze market, competitive, and member insights to size opportunities and shape business cases - Partner with product design, clinical, network, actuarial, corporate strategy, and growth teams to coordinate timelines from ideation through launch - Support execution of pilots and early-stage programs, tracking performance and recommending whether to refine, pivot, or discontinue concepts - Lead cross-functional requirement gathering, documentation, and implementation efforts while ensuring regulatory compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree - 5+ years of experience in healthcare, health insurance, product management (ACA or small group), or corporate strategy - Demonstrated experience supporting product development, consumer journey mapping, improvement plans, or pilot programs - Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time - Residency in one of the approved remote-work states (AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MA, MI, NV, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, TX, or VA)
Nice to have
- Background in health insurance product development, population health, or member engagement solutions - Familiarity with multicultural or underserved population strategies - Exposure to condition-based or clinically oriented product models - Experience in early-stage product experimentation
