Solution Architect (Prototyping)

Role overview A customer-facing technical role on a Government Development team for a Kubernetes-based data intelligence platform delivered as B2B SaaS or as self-hosted, on-prem, or air-gapped deployments. The position owns the technical dialogue with incoming leads in defense, law enforcement, and enterprise sectors, translating prospect needs into working prototypes and bridging the gap between presales and Product.

Responsibilities - Serve as the technical lead on incoming opportunities by running discovery calls, qualifying technical fit, and answering architecture and integration questions - Translate complex customer workflows into pilot designs and concrete technical solutions - Build production-quality prototypes intended for clean handover to Product and Engineering teams, not throwaway demos - Lead deep technical engagements including platform architecture sessions, workshops, and guidance on data integration and application customization - Hand over won opportunities to the owning Product and Engineering team with documentation and customer context - Surface recurring market themes to Product to inform the roadmap - Maintain reusable demo assets, reference prototypes, and technical collateral such as architecture diagrams, integration guides, and FAQs - Feed platform gaps and friction points discovered during prototyping back to the relevant product teams

Requirements - Strong hands-on knowledge of platform architecture and integration concepts - Ability to build functional prototypes quickly to a standard others can take over - Comfort in customer-facing settings with the ability to explain technical concepts to both engineers and business stakeholders - Excellent communication skills for articulating complex architectures to technical and executive audiences - Structured approach to documenting trade-off discussions between commercial and product priorities - Fluent German and English at C1 or above - Willingness to travel up to 50 percent nationally and internationally - Authorization to work in Germany
