About this role
Role overview A field-based engineering role at an early-stage UK venture deploying humanoid, quadruped and specialist robots from overseas manufacturers to UK customers. The position is hands-on across the full service lifecycle, from commissioning and demonstration through to maintenance, repair and operator training, and helps shape how the company delivers robotics-as-a-service as it grows.
Responsibilities - Commission, configure and prepare humanoid, quadruped and specialist platforms for customer demonstrations, trials and pilots - Deliver on-site installation, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repair across UK customer sites - Run live demonstrations and train customer operators in safe and effective use of the platforms - Liaise with manufacturer technical teams on escalations, firmware updates and spares logistics - Capture field learnings and feed them back into trial planning and robot selection decisions - Help build service playbooks, tooling and the spares operation from the ground up alongside the founding team
Requirements - Hands-on field service, maintenance or commissioning experience with robots, automation systems or complex electromechanical equipment - Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills - Comfort working with software-configured hardware, including networking, controllers, calibration and log interpretation - Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the UK - Clear, confident communication style with customers on site
Nice to have - Exposure to ROS or ROS 2 - Familiarity with robot safety standards - Prior manufacturer service training on robotics platforms
