Production Support Engineer

About this role
Role overview Maintain and improve business-critical production applications and infrastructure, responding to escalated support issues and helping restore service when incidents occur. The role spans investigation, operational maintenance, automation, and reliability work across application and infrastructure teams.
Responsibilities - Investigate application and infrastructure incidents through troubleshooting, log analysis, and root cause analysis. - Monitor and support applications, coordinate escalations, and help respond to outages using recovery plans. - Participate in incident reviews and reliability initiatives aimed at reducing repeat issues and improving uptime. - Help maintain infrastructure with code-based tools and contribute to deployment, performance, and scalability improvements. - Schedule and carry out monthly maintenance on test and production servers, including patches, updates, and health checks. - Document known issues, workarounds, and operating procedures, and develop scripts to reduce manual work.
Requirements - Experience troubleshooting applications, analyzing logs, and investigating root causes. - Proficiency with SQL Server and scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Bash. - Practical experience with Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and Windows or Linux administration. - Familiarity with web and infrastructure technologies such as IIS, Traefik, Elasticsearch, APIs, HTTP, DNS, and monitoring tools. - Understanding of infrastructure security, incident management, and compliance practices. - Clear communication and documentation skills, sound prioritization, and a customer-focused approach. - Availability for an on-call rotation, which may include nights or weekends.
Nice to have - Experience supporting both cloud and on-premises environments; knowledge of Azure, Google Cloud, or Kubernetes is a plus.
