Role overview This remote Field CISO position partners with enterprise clients as a senior security advisor, translating business and risk objectives into actionable cybersecurity strategies. The role spans advisory, sales support, and thought leadership across the central US geography, with a focus on shaping solutions rather than delivering them hands-on.
Responsibilities - Act as a trusted security advisor, uncovering client business goals, risk tolerance, and current security posture, and translating them into tailored recommendations. - Lead security assessments and workshops, then develop presentations and proposals that explain complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences. - Build and maintain relationships with senior client stakeholders such as CISOs, CIOs, and CTOs, while representing the organization at industry conferences and local chapters. - Collaborate with sales teams to qualify opportunities and shape pursuit strategy for security solutions and services engagements. - Produce ongoing thought leadership content, including blog posts, white papers, threat updates, solution architectures, and conference talks. - Provide market and client feedback to influence the evolution of service and solution offerings.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related discipline. - At least 10 years of cybersecurity experience spanning consulting, architecture, or leadership roles, including work with enterprise clients. - Strong grounding in security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2. - Deep technical familiarity with network security, cloud security, endpoint security, and incident response. - Demonstrated ability to communicate and present effectively to both technical and executive audiences, supported by strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have - Prior experience serving as a public-facing security advisor or spokesperson. - Active participation in industry groups or standards bodies.
