Role overview An opportunity exists for a senior product leader to set the strategic direction of a cloud-based payroll, HR, time, and benefits platform serving small and midsize businesses. The role combines long-horizon product thinking with day-to-day execution ownership, scaling complex platform capabilities, safeguarding regulatory precision, and delivering measurable customer and revenue impact.
Responsibilities - Shape a multi-year product vision and roadmap for payroll capabilities, directly connecting initiatives to ARR growth, customer retention, and core company objectives - Co-architect scalable, automated solutions with engineering, revenue, and operations leadership that address multi-state wage laws, evolving tax requirements, and HR compliance - Orchestrate alignment across engineering, UX, sales, operations, and leadership, managing interdependencies and mitigating cross-domain technical risks - Identify and drive AI and automation initiatives using LLMs, machine learning, and dynamic workflows to automate payroll setup, streamline tax calculations, and elevate self-service client experiences - Lead 0-to-1 product discovery for broad, ambiguous opportunities, taking platform capabilities from initial concept through enterprise-grade scale - Elevate the product organization by mentoring PMs and product owners, refining discovery frameworks, and sharpening go-to-market processes - Define and monitor product metrics and KPIs, validating hypotheses and continuously optimizing user experience and platform health
Requirements - Minimum 5 years of product management experience, preferably in B2B SaaS or payroll, fintech, HRIS, or tax compliance platforms - Practical experience or deep familiarity with payroll, HRIS, benefits administration, time and attendance, or financial technology systems - Demonstrated experience scoping and shipping AI-powered capabilities or automation tooling within a SaaS environment - Ability to engage engineering on technical constraints and translate complexity into elegant product designs - Track record of leading without explicit playbooks and operating decisively under ambiguity - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree or industry certification preferred - Proven history of launching and scaling complex enterprise software products from inception to market success
