A tech-enabled service company focused on performance assurance for distributed solar PV and energy storage assets is hiring a Technical Operations Manager for its Commercial team. The role serves as the primary technical point of contact for assigned clients and supports a portfolio of around 250–350 MW of distributed solar assets. It combines field-savvy commercial solar expertise with client engagement, operational coordination, and continuous improvement work for clean energy portfolios.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned clients, reviewing service visit reports and joining weekly client check-in calls to provide on-the-spot expertise. - Build strong relationships with clients, field service partners, internal team members, and other asset stakeholders. - Investigate asset issues using site monitoring platforms and initiate activities that improve performance. - Create, manage, and oversee tickets for planned and unplanned service activities, coordinating with field service partners. - Support onsite technicians during service work and check-out calls, and collaborate with external engineering firms on retrofits, repowering, and redesigns. - Own the technical aspects of the Commercial Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) program, including sales support, pricing proposals, scope development, and contract review.
Requirements
- Background as a commercial solar technician or installer who enjoys working with clients and partners. - Strong technical knowledge of distributed solar PV and energy storage systems. - Experience coordinating field service activities and working with multiple stakeholders. - Comfort investigating performance data through site monitoring platforms and acting on findings. - Clear communication skills for client-facing conversations and cross-team coordination.
