About this role
Role overview The Product Engineer works across the full stack of an analytics platform, partnering closely with product and customer-facing teams to identify problems and ship solutions end-to-end. The role values autonomy, rapid iteration, and a "ship early, refine often" mindset, with engineers using AI-assisted tooling to delegate routine work and concentrate on the hardest technical and product challenges. Product engineers typically take deep ownership of one area of the platform, whether an AI agent, data modeling, ingestion flows, or external interfaces.
Responsibilities - Partner with product managers and customers to identify high-impact problems and design end-to-end solutions - Build and refine an AI-powered analytics agent capable of handling increasingly complex analyses and workflows - Develop advanced data modeling capabilities such as aggregate awareness and approximate count distinct measures - Enable user-driven data ingestion through features like CSV uploads, spreadsheets, and input tables - Build APIs, CLIs, and MCP tools that make the platform's capabilities available to other environments - Contribute to a fast shipping cadence with frequent releases and iteration
Requirements - 3–10+ years of experience building production-grade software - Strong opinions about what makes a product and its features excellent - Strategic thinking with the ability to balance business goals, velocity, and engineering quality - Hands-on analytical experience using tools such as SQL, Looker, Tableau, Mode, Amplitude, or Google Analytics - Comfort working autonomously and making technical decisions independently
Nice to have - Prior experience building data products - Familiarity with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift - Exposure to a modern web and backend stack including TypeScript, React with Remix, Kotlin/Java, and AWS
