Distinguished Engineer, System Software Integration

Role overview A Distinguished Engineer role responsible for system software integration across a complex hardware and software stack. The position sets technical direction for how drivers, firmware, operating systems, and user-mode components come together into a coherent, reliable platform for customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities - Lead the architectural design of system software integration across drivers, OS layers, and platform services. - Drive deep technical investigations into hard integration, performance, and reliability issues spanning hardware and software boundaries. - Mentor and review work from senior engineers across multiple system software teams. - Partner with hardware, firmware, and product engineering to define integration requirements and release readiness criteria. - Influence long-term platform strategy through design reviews, RFCs, and cross-org technical leadership.

Requirements - Extensive experience designing and shipping production system software such as drivers, kernels, or platform runtimes. - Deep familiarity with operating system internals, hardware-software interfaces, and performance engineering. - Demonstrated technical leadership across large, multi-team engineering organizations. - Strong skills in C and C++, with working knowledge of one or more systems languages such as Rust or Go. - Track record of driving ambiguous, cross-cutting technical initiatives to completion.

Nice to have - Experience with GPU, accelerator, or other specialized compute platforms. - Contributions to open-source system software projects.
