Job details
About this role
Role overview
Support the reliability and continuous improvement of manufacturing operations through Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and programmable logic controller (PLC) integration. This role works across automation, production, process engineering, and operations in a high-volume discrete manufacturing environment, helping ensure that production transactions, reporting, quality checks, and plant-floor communications operate accurately and consistently.
Responsibilities
- Support MES-to-PLC integration during system launches, production ramp-ups, upgrades, and routine manufacturing operations. - Configure and maintain communications between MES platforms, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks. - Incorporate MES templates, user-defined data types, tags, and supporting PLC logic into automation programs. - Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, network, and integration issues that affect production execution, throughput, quality, or system performance. - Maintain the accuracy of real-time production reporting, part numbers, product structures, manufacturing data, and MES-based quality validation. - Document changes and investigations, assist with audits and root-cause analysis, and identify opportunities to improve automation and manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, automation, manufacturing, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field. - Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens PLC and HMI platforms. - Strong PLC programming, diagnostics, and troubleshooting skills. - Experience supporting manufacturing automation and industrial control systems. - Working knowledge of industrial networking and plant-floor communication protocols. - Ability to analyze complex production and systems-integration problems and communicate effectively with engineering, operations, supervisors, and production teams.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting MES in a live production environment and integrating ERP, MES, and PLC systems. - Familiarity with discrete manufacturing, production reporting, manufacturing data collection, and quality-management systems. - Experience with implementation projects, software updates, production rollouts, continuous improvement, or manufacturing-process optimization.
Benefits and work setup
- The source describes a long-term project environment, employee-focused support, compensation and benefits, and a flexible work-life balance.
