About this role

Role overview

A senior product leadership role embedded in an Engineering organization, owning tactical delivery across two interconnected platform domains: a multi-platform Billing function and a Data platform built on GCP and BigQuery. The position reports to the Director of Software Engineering and acts as the subject matter expert for every feature delivered, staying close to user stories, acceptance criteria, and UAT rather than delegating context. Seniority is reflected in the ability to navigate complexity across both technical domains while keeping day-to-day delivery on track.

Responsibilities

- Manage backlogs, facilitate Agile ceremonies, and ensure work is clearly defined, prioritized, and ready for engineering execution across the Billing and Data teams. - Author detailed epics and user stories with precise acceptance criteria, and run User Acceptance Testing to validate functional, quality, and integrity requirements. - Write and execute SQL queries directly against BigQuery as part of UAT to verify pipeline outputs, transformation accuracy, and data correctness. - Coordinate release planning, write release notes, and manage internal rollout communications for both platforms. - Partner with peer Product Owners, Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and the Program Manager to manage cross-team dependencies, capacity, and stakeholder alignment. - Build and maintain deep expertise across the billing platform architectures, data ingestion pipelines, and transformation layers, serving as the primary point of contact for stakeholders.

Requirements

- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager with deep feature ownership in platform, infrastructure, or data-centric environments. - Strong understanding of cloud-based data platforms and tools such as BigQuery, dbt, and Airflow. - Ability to write and execute SQL queries against BigQuery for UAT validation. - Skilled in Agile frameworks and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Figma. - Experience conducting and managing User Acceptance Testing to ensure quality and stakeholder satisfaction. - Effective communication skills bridging technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

- Experience with financial systems, billing platforms, or accounting modules in SaaS or fintech environments. - Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and data governance practices such as GDPR or CCPA. - Technical background such as a CS degree or equivalent experience.

Benefits and work setup

- Remote-first culture with flexible paid time off. - Competitive salary plus bonus, with a posted range of $110,000–$125,000 USD depending on experience. - Health, dental, and vision insurance; 13 paid holidays; and company volunteer days.
