About this role
Role overview Research and develop machine learning models and algorithms for computational perception and interactive experiences. The role sits between research and engineering: you will run disciplined, rapid experiments and work with ML engineers to move useful findings into training pipelines and production systems. Areas of exploration may include vision, audio, sensor fusion, and other forms of multimodal interaction.
Responsibilities - Develop new ML models and algorithms for perception and interactive applications. - Form hypotheses and design experiments to test promising methods efficiently. - Explore advances in computer vision, audio processing, sensor fusion, or related areas. - Train and evaluate models on real datasets, documenting results and communicating progress to technical colleagues. - Collaborate with ML engineers to integrate research into training pipelines and production systems. - Contribute to research planning and technical roadmap discussions, and track validated experimental progress.
Requirements - 2+ years of hands-on ML research experience in industry, academia, or a research lab. - Demonstrated ability to take experiments from hypothesis through design and validation. - Proficiency in Python and deep expertise with PyTorch or TensorFlow. - Experience training and evaluating models on real datasets. - Understanding of evaluation metrics, experimental design, and statistical validation. - Familiarity with data preprocessing, augmentation, and management for ML workflows. - Ability to present research findings to technical audiences.
Nice to have Experience with real-time inference, model optimization, self-supervised or few-shot learning, foundation models, multimodal learning, or productionizing research. Useful backgrounds also include MLOps, edge or on-device ML, resource-constrained systems, cameras, microphones, motion sensors, haptics, and privacy-preserving ML.
Benefits and work setup Full-time role, based in Hong Kong or remote. The work may involve collaboration across time zones and occasional travel. The listed offering includes flexible working hours and vacation, competitive compensation, and opportunities to work with emerging technologies in interactive play.
