Remote job
Localization Project Manager [Europe] (Fixed-Term Contract)
Job details
About this role
Role overview A fixed-term contract position is open for a Localization Project Manager based in Europe to coordinate game and cross-functional localization efforts across European markets. The role partners with a Localization Program Manager and progressively takes ownership of a defined portfolio of localization projects from intake through delivery. Translation, graphic localization, voice-over, and linguistic quality assurance (LQA) are executed by an external vendor, so this position focuses on vendor and stakeholder management rather than direct linguistic work.
Responsibilities
- Manage an external localization vendor covering text translation, graphic localization, voice-over, and LQA, including progress tracking, schedule maintenance, handoff management, and follow-up on open items.
- Support the Localization Program Manager with project planning, execution, and status reporting, gradually owning 10–20 projects end-to-end.
- Handle localization requests from cross-functional teams, covering intake, prioritization, scheduling, stakeholder communication, and delivery tracking.
- Maintain project documentation in Notion and other agreed tools, including schedules, risk logs, dependency lists, and outstanding action items.
- Serve as the primary operational contact between internal stakeholders and the vendor, coordinating requirements, reviews, feedback, and issue resolution.
- Drive quality improvements by setting expectations, reviewing LQA findings, identifying recurring issues, and implementing corrective actions.
- Prepare weekly status reports and maintain a localization request log and approved timesheet; escalate timeline, quality, scope, or dependency risks promptly.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience managing localization projects for games, entertainment, software, or other digital products.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Familiarity with end-to-end localization workflows, including translation, graphic localization, voice-over, review cycles, LQA, and handoff processes.
- Demonstrated experience managing external vendors, including scheduling, deliverable oversight, feedback handling, and escalations.
- Comfort using Notion, Slack, spreadsheets, and localization or project management platforms.
- Fluency in English plus German, French, Spanish, or Italian is preferred.
- Must be based in Germany, France, Spain, or Italy with working knowledge of European localization workflows and market requirements.
Nice to have
- Prior exposure to motion-based gaming, interactive entertainment, or active play products.
- Experience working remotely with globally distributed teams and reporting into managers in different time zones.
Benefits and work setup
- Fixed-term contract running through December 31, 2026, with the possibility of renewal.
- Fully remote arrangement with an expected schedule of 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
- Flexible working hours and vacation policy.
- Competitive compensation package.
- Product-driven culture with emphasis on individual growth and hands-on exposure to emerging gaming technologies.
