Role overview
A pre-sales Solutions Engineer role supporting a cloud security platform, partnering closely with sales, customers, and channel partners. The position blends deep technical expertise with executive-level storytelling to help enterprise buyers evaluate, adopt, and expand their use of a modern security and networking solution across cloud, data, and AI workloads.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the regional sales team to exceed assigned revenue targets through technical selling and account strategy. - Deliver high-impact presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements to senior security audiences, from architects up to CISO and CIO levels. - Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and partners, gathering requirements, building evaluation test plans, and driving POCs to a successful close. - Translate customer needs into clear solution designs, articulating how the platform's architecture addresses business and security requirements. - Respond to RFIs and RFPs, provide competitive positioning, and represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and seminars. - Relay field feedback and enhancement requests to Product Management and help resolve customer satisfaction issues through cross-functional escalation.
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant experience as a Solutions Engineer or Systems Engineer, with a proven record of presenting technical material at executive and architect levels. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable with public speaking and scaling discussions from whiteboard sessions to C-level conversations. - Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and administering Linux, macOS, and Windows systems, plus familiarity with mobile platforms (Android, iOS) and MDM/MAM technologies. - Working knowledge of certificates, key management systems, HSMs, and core information security solutions such as web proxy, NGFW, security gateways, VPN, SAML/SSO, DLP, SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and SD-WAN. - Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python and REST API frameworks, including writing regex expressions. - Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science or a related discipline.

- Experience with competing cloud security products. - Industry or vendor certifications such as CISSP, CCSK, CCSP, CCSE, GCFW, PCNSE, JNCIS-SEC/JNCIP-ENT, GCIH, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE, plus Agile (CSPO, CSM, CSP) or PMP credentials.
Benefits and work setup
- Heavy travel within the assigned territory, with additional domestic travel as needed for company engagements. - On-target earnings range of $177,500–$253,000 USD, plus eligibility for bonus or stock award programs and a comprehensive health plan and benefits package.
