Job details
About this role
Role overview
Lead the team responsible for turning partner activity and pricing data into accurate, recognized revenue. You’ll guide the remaining migration from legacy ingestion systems to a shared platform, then support reliable ongoing operations across multiple business areas. The work requires close coordination with Finance, Business Development, Product, and engineering teams, with a high bar for reconciling every revenue figure.
Responsibilities
- Hire, coach, and develop engineers and contractors across experience levels, including senior and staff engineers. - Lead partner and business-area migrations to the modern ingestion platform, validate the new path, and retire legacy systems when ready. - Keep partner files, pricing rules, and warehouse data aligned with figures recognized by Finance; investigate and explain discrepancies. - Guide pipeline, data modeling, and pricing decisions as partner agreements and business needs change. - Coordinate plans, timelines, and delivery commitments with Finance, Business Development, Product, and engineering stakeholders. - Improve reliability, data freshness, completeness, testing, documentation, and operational ownership; use automation and AI-assisted development with human review for revenue-impacting changes.
Requirements
- Eight or more years of software engineering experience and at least five years managing engineering teams. - Experience owning production data pipelines or ingestion platforms where correctness is essential, such as revenue, billing, or payments systems. - Track record leading migrations while legacy and replacement systems are both live. - Strong SQL and Python skills, plus working knowledge of Snowflake and AWS. - Familiarity with workflow orchestration, relational databases such as Postgres, and pipelines designed to be observable, safe to rerun, and resistant to duplicate or missing data. - Practical data-quality skills, including reconciliation, anomaly review, and tracing discrepancies to their source. - Experience coaching engineers, communicating technical decisions clearly, and balancing delivery dates with system quality. - Experience using automation, including AI-assisted development, to improve team throughput.
Benefits and work setup
- U.S.-based remote work. - Benefits include health coverage, flexible paid time off and holidays, parental leave, mental health support, retirement matching, wellness and home-office stipends, and a paid sabbatical after five years.
