Customer Engagement Representative (Remote, Contract)

Role overview

Deliver remote customer support for a real estate platform that helps people navigate the home-buying journey. This 1099 contract role responds to inquiries across email, chat, and phone, creates and assigns leads to partner agents, and upholds customer service standards from a home office. Shifts fall between 7 AM and 7 PM US Central Time, seven days a week including weekends.

Responsibilities

- Provide warm, responsive support across email, chat, and phone channels - Build rapport with customers, understand their needs, and guide them through the next step of their journey - Use scripts and tools to deliver a consistent, top-tier customer experience - Create and assign leads to the right partner agents or teams - Troubleshoot customer questions and concerns with clarity and care - Flag issues to the Customer Engagement Operations Team as needed - Take on additional tasks as they arise to keep operations running smoothly

Requirements

- Clear spoken and written English communication - Ability to learn and adapt quickly - 2+ years of customer support experience across email, phone, and/or chat - High school diploma or equivalent - Reliable high-speed internet (100 Mbps recommended) with a stable connection for calls and meetings - Backup internet option such as a mobile hotspot - Computer or laptop capable of running required systems (16 GB RAM recommended) - Quality headset for voice calls and a webcam for meetings and training - Authorization to work as a 1099 independent contractor in the United States

Nice to have

- Experience using help desk software and remote support platforms - Familiarity with Google Workspace - Background in high-volume call environments - Basic real estate knowledge - B2B customer support experience - Bilingual skills, Spanish preferred - Outbound call or sales experience

Benefits and work setup

- Hourly pay: $16 USD/hour - 1099 independent contractor arrangement - Duration: 3–6 months with possibility of extension - Up to 40 hours per week across shifts scheduled 7 AM–7 PM US Central Time, 7 days a week - Fully remote within the United States
