Role overview
A Product Manager role owning the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of internal billing systems for a global AI cloud platform. The position focuses on the tools, automation, and processes that keep billing accurate, auditable, and fast for internal teams and enterprise partners, including reseller and systems integrator channels.
Responsibilities
- Own the billing workflows roadmap, prioritising initiatives based on risk, compliance, and scalability - Translate complex enterprise and partner needs into a clear, prioritised product vision that balances immediate fixes with long-term platform investment - Run discovery with Finance, Support, Sales, and external partners to surface failure modes across the billing lifecycle and validate automation ideas - Synthesise regulatory requirements such as SOX and GDPR/DSR into functional product controls - Write PRDs and user stories for internal billing consoles, APIs, and reconciliation pipelines - Design and implement billing-specific RBAC and IAM models enforcing secure, least-privilege access for internal teams and partners - Apply AI and automation to cut manual operational hours and reduce human error in billing corrections - Align Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Partner Operations on compliant, auditable billing flows - Define and own OKRs covering reconciliation gaps, partner onboarding time, and manual task reduction, plus SLAs and runbooks for billing incidents
Requirements
- Five or more years of Product Management experience owning financial systems, billing, payments, or complex back-office operations - Proven record of shipping automations that materially reduced manual operational hours - Experience in B2B or enterprise domains, ideally with reseller or partner-based billing models - Deep knowledge of billing architectures including invoicing, ledger reconciliation, multi-tenant chargebacks, and pricing models - Technical fluency to partner with Engineering and SRE on RBAC, IAM, data pipelines, and API design - Ability to use SQL and analytics to diagnose operational issues and measure billing integrity - Comfort navigating the needs of Engineering, Finance, and Legal stakeholders and translating ambiguous compliance or revenue goals into specific requirements
Nice to have
- Experience with public-cloud or AI infrastructure billing - Familiarity with SOX controls, GDPR/DSR workflows, or similar regulatory programs
