Role overview This Senior Product Manager role sits on a mortgage lending origination platform team, owning a defined area of the lending experience end-to-end. The PM partners closely with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to deliver high-impact improvements for financial institutions and their borrowers, contributing to team strategy while driving focused execution.
Responsibilities - Own the product roadmap for an assigned area, from discovery through delivery and iteration - Lead continuous discovery using customer interviews, usage analytics, and partnerships with financial institution customers - Write clear product requirements documents and user stories that give engineering teams confidence to build - Drive agile ceremonies and maintain a healthy, prioritized backlog aligned to team OKRs - Define and monitor product KPIs, using data to inform prioritization and demonstrate business impact - Partner with fellow PMs, Engineering, UX, Sales, Customer Success, and Compliance to align on platform-level decisions - Identify opportunities to incorporate AI/ML-assisted decisioning, intelligent automation, and API extensibility - Stay current on mortgage lending trends, fintech competitive dynamics, and relevant regulatory developments such as CFPB, TILA, ECOA, and fair lending
Requirements - Bachelor's degree plus 4+ years of relevant product management experience - Proven track record of owning a product area end-to-end across discovery, definition, delivery, and iteration - Experience managing API-integrated software products with multiple stakeholder groups - Strong command of agile methodologies and modern discovery practices such as Jobs-to-Be-Done and continuous discovery - Analytical mindset with comfort using data and product analytics tools to drive decisions and measure outcomes - Exceptional written and verbal communication, with ability to simplify complexity and align diverse stakeholders - Deep customer empathy demonstrated by translating user insights into shipped improvements
Nice to have - Domain experience in mortgage lending, loan origination systems, or financial institution software - Familiarity with API and integration products, including developer needs and platform extensibility - Exposure to AI/ML in product contexts, with judgment about where intelligent automation adds real value - Experience working with or selling to banks, credit unions, or other regulated financial institutions - Working knowledge of consumer lending regulations such as TILA, ECOA, fair lending, and CFPB guidance
