About this role
Role overview A bioinformatics analyst position within a molecular diagnostics organization pioneering non-invasive cancer detection through cell-free DNA liquid biopsy technologies. The role sits at the intersection of molecular biology, bioinformatics, and next-generation sequencing, turning rigorous science into clinically meaningful diagnostic results.
Responsibilities - Process next-generation sequencing (NGS) data using established workflows to support clinical diagnostic reporting. - Collaborate directly with molecular biologists, providing analytical and computational support for experiments and development activities. - Triage failure modes in NGS processing and contribute fixes and improvements to shared codebases to enhance reliability and efficiency. - Maintain and improve existing bioinformatics pipelines while developing new workflows to automate growing analytical needs. - Assist in validation and verification studies of liquid biopsy products alongside operations, science, and engineering teams.
Requirements - BA/BS or MS degree in biology, computer science, or a related field, with a passion for molecular biology or bioinformatics. - Strong programming ability in Python and experience with version control (git, GitHub). - Solid data analysis and visualization skills. - Excellent oral and written communication skills for both scientific and general audiences.
Nice to have - Hands-on experience processing NGS data. - Cloud computing exposure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and/or scientific computing on HPC systems. - Familiarity with software testing practices.
