Data Platform Admin (Remote)

Role overview Operate and secure a cloud data platform and its production workflows, working with data engineers and analysts. The work spans orchestration, pipelines, integrations, permissions, monitoring, and release practices, with an emphasis on reliable service, clear operational documentation, and preventing recurring problems.

Responsibilities - Build and maintain Airflow workflows, including schedules, dependencies, monitoring, alerts, and troubleshooting. - Support pipelines and integrations across the warehouse, transformation layer, code repository, and related platform components. - Configure environments and integrations; administer users, roles, permissions, and service accounts using least-privilege access and secure credential practices. - Monitor freshness, data volumes, and failures; investigate incidents, restore service, and reduce repeat issues. - Support Git-based collaboration, CI/CD, testing, and documented releases, coordinating changes with analytics engineers and analysts. - Document system ownership, operational procedures, recovery steps, and security risks; contribute to remediation.

Requirements - Experience administering or supporting a cloud data platform and its production workflows. - Working SQL skills for data validation and pipeline or warehouse troubleshooting, plus Python or another automation language. - Experience with a cloud warehouse such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift and with workflow scheduling, monitoring, alerting, and recovery. - Familiarity with dbt, data lineage, development stages such as stage/dev/prod, scalable pipelines, and Git-based testing and release practices. - Ability to manage platform environments, integrations, permissions, and service accounts; coordinate changes and assess downstream effects. - Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and follow-through; willingness to complete security training and follow company policies.

Nice to have - Airflow, Snowflake, and Fivetran experience; Microsoft Fabric or Azure familiarity; Power BI refresh knowledge; or experience with CI/CD and automated testing. - Familiarity with APIs, OAuth, secure credentials, or data systems in IT, distribution, or supply chain settings. - Experience supporting a growing organization with changing systems.

Benefits and work setup - Remote role open internationally, with working hours aligned to US Eastern time, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
