Senior Security Engineer - SecOps

Role overview Step into a senior incident response role at a non-profit-backed technology company behind one of the world's most widely used privacy-focused browsers. You will monitor and respond to security incidents across consumer products and services used by more than 225 million people each month. The position combines hands-on threat hunting, alert engineering, and incident command within a global 24/7 capability.

Responsibilities - Identify and respond to security incidents at global scale. - Act as incident commander, driving incidents through the full response lifecycle. - Design and maintain a portfolio of security alerts, automated actions, playbooks, and escalation workflows. - Conduct threat hunting, anticipate emerging threats, and shape forward-looking tooling, technology, and process strategies. - Research threat intelligence reports, triage findings, and manage resulting workflows. - Partner with stakeholders across the company to maintain a continuous feedback loop across preparation, identification, analysis, containment, and post-mortem activities. - Participate in an on-call rotation.

Requirements - 5+ years managing security incidents at global scale, or experience in SOC, PSIRT, or CSIRT environments. - Expertise with SIEM systems such as ELK, Google BigQuery, or Splunk (Splunk proficiency preferred). - Expertise with endpoint detection and investigation, including hands-on EDR tools and using endpoint telemetry to find root cause. - Expertise with SOAR platforms such as Tines or Splunk SOAR. - Superb communication and leadership skills; ability to partner effectively with diverse stakeholders. - Practical experience in software development or engineering operations for consumer products and services. - Hands-on experience with cloud technologies such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Heroku, or Microsoft Azure.
