Senior iOS Engineer

Role overview

Develop and maintain native mobile software that helps people access and explore the web. This senior engineering role focuses on iOS and iPadOS applications, combining feature development and maintenance with quality, stability, user research, and collaboration across a distributed team. The work also includes contributing in the open to a broader open-source project and community.

Responsibilities - Design, implement, maintain, and debug features in a large mobile application codebase. - Improve software quality through code review, bug fixes, automated tests, and performance profiling. - Monitor application stability, investigate crashes, and address reliability problems. - Develop experiments to better understand how users interact with mobile apps. - Work with partner teams, mentor colleagues, and share knowledge across a distributed group. - Contribute openly to the project and engage with its contributor community.

Requirements - Experience building and releasing native iOS or iPadOS applications. - Expert-level Swift programming ability, with readiness to learn and work effectively in a substantial existing codebase. - Understanding of web technologies, including HTTP, HTML, and JavaScript. - Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests. - Strong written and verbal English communication, and an interest in learning with and supporting teammates.
