About this role
Role overview
A senior product manager is needed to drive direction for an event data pipeline at a personalization platform that serves marketing use cases through AI-driven content generation. The role sits at the intersection of product and data infrastructure, owning the backlog for stream event ingestion, data normalization, and governed data while partnering closely with data engineering. Reporting to the Director of Product Management for Data and Integrations, the position serves as the translator between commercial stakeholders and engineering teams, helping shape a coherent platform roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Own the product backlog for an event data pipeline, including stream event ingestion and tracking, normalization of data generated by ML and platform features, and governed data infrastructure, driving sprint-level execution alongside data engineering partners - Convert use cases and functional requirements from commercial teams into well-scoped product requirements that engineering can execute against - Act as a visible and trusted partner to commercial and cross-functional teams, maintaining an active presence in sales and customer experience conversations and connecting shipped work to customer and business outcomes - Contribute across the broader data and integrations portfolio where event data decisions create cross-team dependencies, helping shape a coherent platform roadmap beyond the immediate backlog - Define and track reliability and quality benchmarks for shipped pipeline features, monitoring performance in the 60 to 90 days following go-live - Stay current on evolving event data and data platform trends, bringing informed perspective to architectural trade-off conversations with engineering - Champion the customer perspective in every interaction and decision
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience working directly with engineering teams on technically complex, data-intensive products - Fluency in event data pipeline concepts including stream event ingestion, real-time data processing, and data normalization - Familiarity with modern data stack technologies such as Snowflake, Kafka, Databricks, or Airflow; prior software engineering or data engineering experience is a strong plus - Demonstrated ability to translate use cases and functional requirements from commercial or non-technical stakeholders into clear, actionable product requirements - Comfort building credibility with both data engineering teams and commercial partners such as sales and customer experience - Strong prioritization instincts across a defined backlog with an eye toward broader platform dependencies - Clear, plain-language communication style, equally at home in sprint ceremonies and customer-facing conversations
Benefits and work setup
- Base pay range of 123,300 to 160,000 CAD per year, with potential additional bonus depending on the role - Full range of medical, financial, and other benefits - Inclusive hiring practices that encourage applications from candidates who may not meet every listed qualification - Commitment to equal opportunity employment across race, gender identity, age, disability, veteran status, and other protected characteristics
