Senior User Research Manager

Role overview Lead user research across a core banking portfolio responsible for current accounts, joint accounts, family banking, money management, budgeting, and paid subscriptions. The role combines people leadership with strategic research influence at executive level, helping shape how millions of customers experience everyday banking.

Responsibilities - Lead research across the core banking product area while shaping a coherent research strategy across adjacent product lines - Partner with senior product, design, and leadership stakeholders across multiple business units - Help define and roll out parts of a global research operating model as the organisation expands internationally - Synthesise customer insights across teams to surface themes, opportunities, and gaps - Combine qualitative research with quantitative data and market evidence to inform strategic decisions - Manage research managers with around six to eight direct and indirect reports while maintaining a high quality bar - Balance methodological rigour with the pace needed to ship great products

Requirements - Experience leading senior researchers or research managers within a complex product organisation - Track record shaping product strategy through research at organisational and executive level - Comfort working across multiple product areas and stitching disparate insights into a coherent narrative - Skill navigating complex stakeholder environments with competing priorities and timelines - Background partnering with Product, Design, Engineering, and Data Science leaders - Ability to combine qualitative methods with quantitative signals, product data, and market insights - Experience building alignment across large organisations and landing new ways of working - Track record coaching research leaders while maintaining quality across multiple teams
