About this role

Role overview

A product-focused iOS engineer role centred on evolving a large-scale native mobile app used by millions for everyday banking tasks. The work spans personal banking products and customer support tools within small, autonomous, cross-functional squads, blending polished UX craft with resilient, well-tested Swift code.

Responsibilities

- Develop and iterate on a 100% Swift iOS application using SwiftUI and the Composable Architecture, alongside existing MVVM patterns - Collaborate with Android, backend, design, product, QA, data, and user research colleagues in a small interdisciplinary squad accountable for a broad company goal - Build and maintain reusable navigation flows using Coordinators, protocols, and extensions, and develop service-layer modules that mirror backend micro-services - Contribute to a multi-layered testing approach covering unit tests, stubbed API tests, snapshot UI tests, and XCUITest end-to-end flows - Participate in weekly discipline-wide sessions to share tools, techniques, and codebase improvements, with encouragement to contribute to open-source work - Partner with an engineering manager through regular 1:1s focused on growth and development

Requirements

- Hands-on experience programming in Swift and shipping at least one app to the App Store - Strong product mindset focused on customer outcomes and data-informed decisions - Ability to translate high-quality design into polished, user-centred interfaces - Comfort working in teams that navigate ambiguity and balance delivery speed with code resilience - Solid grasp of computer science principles underlying mobile development

Nice to have

- Experience with SwiftUI, the Composable Architecture, MVVM, or Coordinator-based navigation patterns - Familiarity with Alamofire, Sentry, or micro-service-aligned networking layers - Backgrounds spanning startups, large companies, or non-traditional paths such as non-Computer-Science degrees - Interest in open-source contribution and knowledge sharing

Benefits and work setup

- Base salary range of £78,000–£110,000 plus stock options, with a latest MacBook Pro provided - UK-based remote or hybrid working with ad hoc London office meet-ups; relocation and visa sponsorship supported for UK-based roles only - Flexible hours anchored around core meeting windows, with autonomy to manage one's own schedule - Annual £1,000 learning budget for books, training, and conferences - Interview process typically 2–3 weeks, designed to accommodate applicant availability and reasonable adjustments
