About this role

Role overview A UK-based digital bank is hiring a Lead Product Designer to tackle its most complex and ambiguous design challenges, shaping native-app experiences that solve real customer problems at scale. Sitting within a large multidisciplinary design organisation, the role leads large, cross-squad projects end-to-end and sets the product vision and craft standard for the wider team.

Responsibilities - Lead the design of intricate, high-impact product initiatives, translating ambiguity into elegant, scalable solutions that improve customer experience - Define and deliver multi-squad programmes that align strategy and connect initiatives across the business - Establish product vision, principles, and direction that inspire product, engineering, and research colleagues to build toward a shared future - Use AI tools across the workflow, including ideation, analysis, prototyping, and shipping production code - Raise the quality of visual execution by considering motion, interaction, and mental-model clarity - Influence the design system, tooling, and processes to improve how design gets done at scale - Mentor designers, contribute to hiring, and act as a role model across the design discipline

Requirements - Track record of shipping impactful, customer-centric native-app designs that solve complex problems and move commercial metrics - Skill in leading research, shaping product vision, and aligning teams around a shared strategy - Strong craft in modular, scalable solutions and effective use of design artefacts to communicate insights - Ability to navigate multi-squad projects, align senior stakeholders, and bring clarity in ambiguous situations - Passion for evolving design systems, processes, and ways of working at organisational scale - Demonstrated contribution to the growth of a design team through mentoring, hiring, and culture-building

Benefits and work setup - Salary range of £90,000–£120,000 plus performance-linked incentive awards - Hybrid London office or fully remote within the UK, with ad hoc travel to London - Visa sponsorship and relocation support available - Flexible hours with a focus on outcomes rather than time-in-seat - Annual £1,000 learning budget for books, courses, and conferences - Home-working setup provided, including a Mac laptop and additional support for fully remote workers
