About this role
Role overview This senior role owns the quality gate for a hybrid codebase where human engineers and AI coding agents collaborate in parallel. The position blends test engineering leadership with consulting-style client work, defining what "done and correct" means and deciding when work is ready for release. The work is fully remote and embedded inside an enterprise delivery team.
Responsibilities - Own acceptance testing, functional validation, regression coverage, and release-quality decisions for code produced by humans and AI agents - Define acceptance criteria and quality standards in partnership with clients, product leaders, and engineers - Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites spanning web, API, and end-to-end workflows - Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and agentic development workflows - Review code quality, system behavior, and production readiness, surfacing edge cases and hidden failure modes - Investigate failures, identify root causes, and drive issues to resolution - Contribute to the evolution of testing and evaluation frameworks for AI-assisted software delivery
Requirements - 8+ years in SDET, QA, or test automation, including ownership of test strategy - Strong programming in TypeScript, JavaScript, and/or Python - Proficiency with modern frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Vitest, Jest, or pytest - Experience defining acceptance criteria and validating behavior beyond unit-level CI checks - Solid understanding of CI/CD tooling and quality-gating practices - Ability to review and gate work from both engineers and AI coding agents - Strong English communication and comfort in a fast-paced, agile consulting environment
Nice to have - Experience testing AI, LLM systems, non-deterministic outputs, or agentic workflows - Performance, load, or security testing background - Behavior-driven development using tools like Gherkin - Building evaluation, testing, or quality frameworks from scratch
