About this role
Role overview A contract engagement moderation role supporting a high-profile live sports streaming project serving German-speaking audiences. Moderators interact with fans of American football and basketball in real time, helping maintain an engaging, respectful, and brand-aligned online community before, during, and after live events. The position is remote and event-driven rather than a fixed shift schedule.
Responsibilities - Monitor and moderate live engagement across digital platforms during NFL, NBA, and other sporting events. - Engage with German-speaking fans in real time using the appropriate brand voice and tone, responding to comments, reactions, and questions. - Foster positive and inclusive online communities while identifying, escalating, and managing policy-violating content. - Adapt messaging style based on event context, audience sentiment, and brand guidelines. - Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth live-event coverage and maintain accuracy, speed, and consistency during high-volume periods. - Stay current on relevant sports news, storylines, players, and fan culture throughout the season.
Requirements - Native-level fluency in German with strong written communication, grammar, and spelling. - Prior experience in social media moderation, community management, or digital engagement. - Genuine, working knowledge of American football and basketball, including rules, terminology, teams, players, and current storylines. - Comfort working in fast-paced, live-event environments and adapting to different brand voices. - Experience moderating live sports or entertainment events and comfort with client-facing communication. - A dedicated laptop or desktop with at least 8 GB of RAM, reliable internet, willingness to install required security software, and two-factor authentication enabled.
Benefits and work setup Project hours follow the NFL and NBA schedules and fluctuate week to week, with most individual events requiring approximately 3 to 5 hours of coverage. Weekend and evening availability is required, and orientation begins upon onboarding. The role is fully remote, and individual base pay depends on factors such as role complexity, experience, and primary work location.
