Job details
About this role
Role overview Create and maintain practical product documentation for users and developers, covering web-based workflows, SDK integrations, REST APIs, and related technical material. You will take ownership of a substantial share of the documentation, help shape its roadmap, and work closely with product and engineering teams to make products easier to understand and integrate.
Responsibilities - Write and edit documentation in Markdown or MDX using a docs-as-code workflow, with content maintained in Git and published through a documentation site. - Explain product workflows for end users and provide developer guidance for SDKs in multiple languages and REST APIs. - Interview developers, product managers, support staff, and solutions engineers to gather and verify information. - Investigate code and product behavior, run projects, and try integration steps in sample applications to validate instructions. - Contribute to CI operations, internal documentation, product discussions, and documentation planning. - Advocate for clear user guidance, manage documentation work against release deadlines, and use AI for research or prototyping while carefully editing its output.
Requirements - Professional experience writing technical documentation, or software, support, or solutions engineering experience that includes substantial writing. - Strong editing skills and a clear focus on helping readers complete tasks and integrate products. - Basic working knowledge of Git and Git-based collaboration workflows. - Comfort with command-line basics, preferably in a Linux or Unix-like environment, including navigating directories, permissions, and connecting over SSH. - Ability to read code and work through a codebase; familiarity with programming is required. The role may involve reading TypeScript, Kotlin, Swift, .NET, or C++. - Initiative to investigate unclear behavior, seek information from colleagues, and identify documentation needs independently.
Benefits and work setup - Full-time remote role open to candidates in Europe. - The work is mostly asynchronous, with approximately one to three meetings per week.
