Role overview This senior engineering role supports the execution of an agency-level cybersecurity program, acting as the subject matter expert for planning, designing, and architecting multi-technology cyber solutions. The position blends hands-on security engineering with advisory work, guiding information assurance practices across general-purpose user systems and dedicated special-purpose platforms.
Responsibilities - Develop, administer, and execute processes within the RSA Archer GRC platform, serving as the security engineering authority for designing multi-technology cyber architectures - Investigate root causes of security incidents, perform troubleshooting, and present remediation recommendations that restore services and harden the environment - Advise stakeholders on security activities, build relationships with key personnel, and document security information and event management (SIEM) findings for leadership review - Remotely manage and troubleshoot workstations and servers, providing expert research and analysis that supports expanding program areas - Evaluate information assurance and security requirements against user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands across government and commercial systems - Analyze security features of system architectures and coach the agency on following NIST, FISMA, agency Information Security and Privacy, and Cloud guidelines
Requirements - 5+ years of security experience with at least 2 years directly engaged in security engineering activities - Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills tied to SIEM and security operations - Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings and recommendations to leadership - Eligibility to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance - Working knowledge of NIST, FISMA, and cloud environment security controls - Active Security+ certification
