About this role

Role overview

A senior design leader is needed to shape trust and safety experiences on a globally scaled consumer social platform serving billions of users, with particular focus on teens, parents, and creators. The role sits at the intersection of product design, content design, policy, and human behavior, translating complex safety and regulatory requirements into clear, empathetic interfaces. The work spans youth safety, parental controls, creator protections, and platform integrity, where language quality and clarity are central to the user experience itself.

Responsibilities

- Define the design vision for trust and safety experiences across the platform at a portfolio level, setting strategic direction rather than shipping isolated features - Lead end-to-end product design for youth safety, parental supervision, creator protection, and integrity features where communication quality is the primary user experience - Translate regulatory, policy, and safety constraints into intuitive, human-centered flows that work across diverse audiences including teens, parents, and creators - Drive alignment across design, product, policy, engineering, and legal stakeholders at senior leadership levels - Establish and elevate craft standards for content-informed product design, mentoring designers and shaping how sensitive topics are communicated at scale - Operate through significant ambiguity and competing constraints to deliver cohesive, trustworthy outcomes

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 8+ years of product design experience or equivalent practice - 8+ years building and shipping applications or software at company scale, owning end-to-end experience within a large, ambiguous domain - Content design background with demonstrated growth into holistic product design, combining interaction, content, and systems thinking - Mobile-first consumer social product design experience at scale - Principal or staff-level leadership experience setting direction, influencing cross-functionally, and mentoring designers - Track record operating across design, product, policy, engineering, and legal functions to deliver cohesive outcomes - Experience turning regulatory requirements into human-centered, intuitive experiences - Background designing in trust and safety, well-being, or other heavily regulated or policy-constrained product areas - Strategic vision at portfolio or program level - Familiarity with responsible AI practices including risk assessment, bias mitigation, and quality review

Nice to have

- Understanding of creator ecosystems and the tools that shape creator outcomes - Use of AI tools to optimize design workflows and deliver measurable efficiency or quality gains - Experience designing for teens, youth, or family safety contexts - Active development of AI skills such as prompt engineering, context engineering, or agent orchestration, and staying current with emerging AI technologies
