About this role

Role overview

A senior engineering manager role leading a custody engineering team responsible for the ledger, security master service, reconciliation, and operational tooling that sits underneath an investment platform serving both small and large customers. The position owns technical strategy and team development through the next phase of growth and scale.

Responsibilities

- Lead, hire, and develop a team of senior engineers, providing thoughtful feedback and building a trusting, supportive environment. - Own the team's technical strategy and roadmap, translating investment-product ambitions into focused priorities and predictable delivery. - Guide the design and evolution of core custody systems, including cash and securities ledgers, security master service, position tracking, and reconciliation. - Partner with product, investment operations, and compliance to turn business and regulatory requirements into well-designed systems, operational controls, and auditable workflows that balance correctness, scale, and maintainability. - Collaborate with product and partnerships teams to align integrations, shared responsibilities, and roadmaps. - Set a high bar for correctness, reliability, and incident response, balancing new capabilities with maintenance of critical systems.

Requirements

- Three or more years managing highly technical engineering teams. - Direct experience building or operating RIA and broker-dealer custody systems at scale, including ledgers, security master services, cash and securities reconciliation, and money movement. - Working understanding of the broker-dealer operating model and how responsibilities and data flow across introducing brokers, clearing firms, and custodians. - Demonstrated ability to work closely with compliance and operations teams, translating requirements into practical engineering decisions and controls. - Familiarity with the securities lifecycle and the implications of settlement and corporate actions for customer cash and positions across equities, fixed income, ETFs, and mutual funds.

Benefits and work setup

- Target base salary ranges: $239,000–$298,800 USD for US-based hires and $225,900–$282,400 CAD for Canada-based hires, with additional equity (stock options/RSUs) and benefits; offers consider experience, expertise, location, and internal pay equity.
