Frontend Engineer - Design Systems

Role overview Build and improve shared frontend components and patterns that help product teams create consistent, accessible interfaces. The initial focus is design systems, working closely with designers and product engineers to connect design intent with production code. This role is open to early-career and intermediate engineers, with project ownership and guidance suited to experience level.

Responsibilities - Develop reusable interface components and patterns using React and TypeScript. - Work with designers and product engineers to evolve components and tokens across design files and code, using feedback from product work. - Implement and check accessible interactions, visual details, and reliable component behavior. - Improve documentation, examples, and workflows so teams can adopt shared patterns with confidence. - Use AI coding tools to explore solutions, assess and test generated code, and share effective approaches with teammates. - Contribute over time to prototyping and tools that support designers and AI agents working with the component system.

Requirements - A foundation in React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS, with interface work from professional experience, internships, coursework, open source, or personal projects. - Ability to explain implementation choices and follow work through to completion. - Interest in visual craft, accessibility, and the details of how people use software. - Hands-on fluency with AI coding tools, including the ability to provide context, assess generated code, and verify it works. - Curiosity about reusable systems and the tradeoffs involved in meeting different product needs with shared components. - Willingness to collaborate with designers and engineers, communicate when support is needed, and learn from feedback.

Nice to have Experience with design systems, prototyping, or developer tools.
