Design Engineer

Role overview Shape the product experience by turning early ideas into polished, functional interfaces, combining visual judgment with strong frontend engineering. As an early hire, you’ll partner with the founding team to define and ship features, own much of the frontend, and contribute to full-stack work and technical direction.

Responsibilities - Translate product concepts or light guidance into complete, high-quality interface implementations without relying on detailed design handoffs. - Collaborate with the founding team to define, design, and deliver new features. - Take ownership of frontend development and contribute to full-stack tasks. - Help shape technical architecture and explore how current AI research and design principles can inform the product. - Participate throughout the development lifecycle, including design, deployment, and maintenance.

Requirements - Strong frontend engineering skills and a keen eye for visual design. - Full-stack experience and the ability to take features from concept through implementation. - Comfort working with limited specifications and making sound design and technical decisions. - Ability to collaborate closely with founders and take responsibility for product areas.

Nice to have - Familiarity with Next.js, TypeScript, tRPC, Prisma, Tailwind CSS, NextAuth.js, or PostgreSQL. - Interest in AI research and applying design principles to AI-enabled products.
