Electrical Engineer II

Role overview

This mid-level role sits inside a collaborative, multi-discipline design practice serving data centers, cloud providers, and large commercial construction projects. The engineer owns portions of electrical system design end to end while partnering with internal staff, clients, and vendors across project phases.

Responsibilities

- Design electrical systems and produce design calculations for data centers, industrial facilities, offices, and similar large commercial projects - Review, sign, and seal project documents including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and record drawings - Write and edit equipment specifications, select electrical devices and systems, and confirm power requirements - Conduct site visits, inspections, and participate in commissioning activities - Manage priorities to deliver work accurately on schedule and on budget while mentoring junior staff

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering - 2+ years of electrical engineering design experience in the construction industry - Strong knowledge of National and International Building Codes plus NFPA standards - Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM, and Revit - Excellent organization, attention to detail, and written/oral communication skills - Ability to work independently while mentoring junior team members

Nice to have

- Active Electrical P.E. license or Engineering in Training certification - Experience producing Protective Device Coordination and Arc Flash studies - Medium voltage equipment selection and specification experience - Familiarity with large-scale standby and emergency power systems, including interactive generator controls
