Senior QA Automation Engineer - SDET

Role overview A senior software development engineer in test (SDET) role on a core quality assurance team for a distributed in-memory data platform. The position combines deep automation engineering with hands-on investigation of complex distributed systems behavior. It targets an experienced QA engineer who can both build robust test infrastructure and dig into nuanced concurrency and networking issues.

Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites and supporting frameworks in Java. - Participate in release validation activities and continuously improve the release testing process. - Verify new features, bug fixes, and performance improvements against expected behavior. - Investigate complex defects involving distributed transactions, replication, networking, storage, and cluster coordination. - Build automation solutions that reduce manual testing effort and raise team productivity.

Requirements - At least five years of experience in software quality assurance, test automation, or software engineering. - Strong Java programming skills and familiarity with the broader Java ecosystem and build tools. - Demonstrated experience creating and sustaining automated test frameworks. - Background testing distributed or backend systems at scale. - Solid understanding of at least three areas: multithreading, concurrency, networking, distributed systems concepts, transactions, or consistency models.

Nice to have - Experience testing in-memory data grids, caching layers, or high-throughput data platforms. - Exposure to performance and load testing methodologies.
