Technical Training Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Role overview Remote-based Technical Training Subject Matter Expert role supporting cyber operations education across multiple U.S. locations, with up to 75% travel. The position bridges complex operational requirements and classroom execution, designing training pipelines and curricula for offensive and defensive cyber capabilities.

Responsibilities - Develop, implement, and evaluate employee training plans and programs aligned with organizational cyber needs - Monitor training effectiveness, assess operational requirements, and modify curriculum to improve outcomes - Provide subject matter expertise to colleagues, associates, and customers on complex technical challenges - Integrate industry best practices to advance offensive and defensive cyber capabilities and training objectives - Identify and resolve moderately complex technical problems spanning low-level software development and cyber operations - Adapt departmental plans and set priorities in response to evolving service and operational challenges

Requirements - Bachelor's degree with 15+ years, Master's degree with 10+ years, or Doctorate with 8+ years of experience in cyber operations and technical training - Demonstrated training pipeline completion, instructional hours, certifications, or direct operational experience - In-depth conceptual and technical knowledge of offensive cyber operations (OCO) and defensive cyber operations (DCO) - Proven track record influencing team members and key stakeholders - Prior military-style technical training and curriculum delivery experience - US citizenship required

Nice to have - Active security clearance - Hands-on experience with low-level software development in cyber environments

Benefits and work setup Remote position with up to 75% travel annually. Projected compensation range is $148,200–$263,000, depending on experience, skills, education, certifications, and contract labor category.
