Protocol Risk Lead

Role overview A full-time Protocol Risk Lead role within a small, crypto-native team building trust-minimized infrastructure for onchain asset management in decentralized finance. The position centers on designing risk controls for a novel framework that broadens access to sophisticated yield strategies, blending hands-on protocol analysis with framework design. The lead will shape how risk is measured, monitored, and stress-tested across the system and its operators.

Responsibilities - Design an end-to-end risk assessment framework spanning smart-contract, economic, governance, and other protocol-level risk categories - Review, score, and analyze strategies, flagging concerns and recommending mitigations - Build and maintain continuous monitoring for live execution environments - Conduct ongoing onchain DeFi risk analysis, including exposure mapping to individual protocols and tokens - Audit the risk-management practices of authorized operators and partners - Develop stress-testing and scenario models to evaluate resilience against outlier events

Requirements - Deep working knowledge of DeFi protocols, primitives, and onchain mechanics - Demonstrated experience in risk control spanning technical and financial dimensions - Comfort analyzing protocols across multiple risk vectors such as smart contract, economic, and governance - Advanced proficiency with onchain investigation tools (block explorers, address analytics, transaction-debugging platforms) and data tools (query layers and subgraphs) - Self-directed, entrepreneurial mindset with disciplined attention to detail - Clear written communication and presentation skills for both technical and strategy audiences

Nice to have - Prior experience curating, operating, or investing in DeFi strategies - Background in Web3 security or cybersecurity - Familiarity with Web3 libraries and smart contract interaction - Exposure to data engineering or financial data pipelines
