Role overview
A high-impact developer relations role focused on growing awareness and deepening engagement among builders working with real-time audio and video infrastructure. The position blends community event execution with content creation, partnering closely with marketing and product teams to amplify reach and inform strategy. The successful candidate serves as an outward-facing ambassador in the Bay Area and at industry events nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Design, host, and participate in developer-facing events such as meetups, hackathons, hands-on workshops, and conference talks. - Grow awareness among new developer audiences, with particular emphasis on regional in-person engagement. - Partner with marketing to amplify event reach through digital channels and ensure sustained post-event impact. - Produce supporting content from events, including recaps, tutorials, demos, blog posts, and short-form social media updates. - Act as a feedback conduit, gathering developer perspectives, trends, and emerging patterns to inform product and community strategy. - Experiment with novel event formats and engagement tactics, measuring what resonates most with target audiences. - Collaborate cross-functionally with developer relations, product marketing, and product teams to keep developer narratives consistent and authentic.
Requirements
- Two or more years of experience in developer advocacy, developer relations, or technical evangelism, with a strong emphasis on community events. - Comfort and enthusiasm for outward-facing work, including public speaking, hosting sessions, and building relationships inside developer communities. - Strong technical communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly across live presentations and written formats. - Hands-on technical background sufficient to write code samples, run demonstrations, or build working prototypes. - Demonstrated experience planning and executing developer events such as meetups, hackathons, workshops, or conference tracks. - Based in the San Francisco Bay Area with willingness to travel for conferences and community events. - Strong cross-functional collaborator who works effectively with marketing, product, and engineering teams.
