Role overview
This position calls for a senior ServiceNow Architect to design, build, and refine enterprise platform solutions that support broader IT modernization initiatives. The work is fully remote and full-time, combining hands-on technical design with cross-functional leadership and mentoring. The architect will serve as the primary authority on platform standards, integrations, and long-term scalability.
Responsibilities
- Architect and optimize scalable platform configurations that align with business and IT objectives while adhering to vendor best practices. - Lead end-to-end implementations, from solution design and technical planning through phased deployments, with attention to performance and maintainability. - Translate operational requirements into detailed technical specifications through close collaboration with cross-functional partners. - Build custom applications and extend core modules using App Engine, Flow Designer, scripting, and other platform-native capabilities. - Integrate the platform with external systems and third-party tools, ensuring secure data exchange and resilient connections. - Conduct code reviews, manage testing cycles, and oversee deployment planning to uphold reliability and security standards. - Mentor developers, advise stakeholders, and enforce platform development best practices across teams. - Maintain documentation for designs, configurations, integrations, and operational processes. - Troubleshoot complex issues, optimize workflows, and recommend enhancements aligned with modernization goals.
Requirements
- Active Secret or higher U.S. security clearance, or ability to obtain one; U.S. citizenship required. - ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) credential. - Five or more years in a ServiceNow Architect or comparable senior role. - Demonstrated depth in integrations, custom development, and troubleshooting. - Hands-on expertise across modules such as ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, Security Operations, Service Catalog, and Reporting. - Strong command of platform data models, workflows, JavaScript, REST APIs, and web technologies including HTML and CSS. - Familiarity with upgrades, performance tuning, and scalability best practices. - Working knowledge of data security practices and integration security protocols. - Experience operating within Agile and DevOps environments. - Self-directed, proactive working style suited to a fully remote setting.
Nice to have
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or comparable credential. - Cloud platform experience with AWS or Azure. - Familiarity with DevOps tooling such as Jira, Jenkins, and GitHub.
Benefits and work setup
- Fully remote, full-time arrangement. - Annual compensation range of $150,000–$170,000.
